SkillsUSA 17 local students take home gold at regional competition

Paso Robles High School hosted more than 700 students during the SkillsUSA Competition Region 2 on Saturday, with PRHS students taking home 17 gold medals. With competitors from San Luis Obispo, Monterey, Kern, Fresno, Santa Barbara, and San Benito counties, competition was tight.

According to SkillsUSA regional coordinator Denise Conte, PRHS has one of the largest Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in the state. Courses offered include Culinary Arts, Automotive Industry, Building Trades, Informational Technology, Digital Media, Early Childhood Education, Law Enforcement, Welding and Leadership.
