Atascadero News, Paso Robles Press welcome new editor

Modified: Friday, Sep 16th, 2016

Ryan Cronk

ATASCADERO — The Atascadero News and Paso Robles Press are entering a new era as Editor Brian Williams moves away and new Editor Ryan Cronk takes the editorial helm.

Williams announced his departure last month after serving as the editor of both papers for more than three years. He and his family are relocating to Porterville where he has accepted a position as the Assistant Publisher and Managing Editor of the Porterville Recorder.

Cronk is relocating to the area from Florence, Ore. where he served as the Editor of the Siuslaw News, another paper published by the Atascadero News and Paso Robles Press’ parent company News Media Corporation, since 2015. He has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Oregon where he graduated in spring of 2008.

Cronk has nearly a decade of experience as a reporter and editor and his front page designs won third place at the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association 2016 Better Newspaper Contest in July.

He will be working closely with Regional Publisher John Bartlett, who said, “Ryan is a great young editor who has been with our company for years and deserves this opportunity. I am very excited to be able to promote him to group editor.”
