PASO ROBLES — Mid State Baptist Church, located at 1749 Ramada Drive, was notified Jan. 26 from the owner of the church building that the property had officially been sold and purchased by the neighboring Firestone Walker Brewery.
“We initially received a 120-day notice that stated we needed to be completely relocated by March 1,” Pastor Bruce Fore said. “With only (two weeks) left, we are still searching for somewhere new to rent.”
Rental demand, particularly here on the Central Coast, is and has been up for the past few years. While these prospective renters are faced with an extremely competitive market, efforts are being taken daily, Fore said.
“I just spoke with a few (potential) options today and have a couple more phone calls set up for tomorrow,” Fore said. “All of the buildings we are interested in are still located somewhere here in North County. We are doing what we can to stay in this area.”
The property purchasers, Firestone Walker Brewing Co., located at 1400 Ramada Drive, has in the past few years expanded its Paso Robles location and plans to continue doing so in 2017.
With the market demand for their beer consistently increasing, additional square footage and equipment upgrades are absolutely pivotal in regards to their success. The California native company plans to extend its existing Central Coast brewhouse westward.
“Our intent is to move our local accounting and HR departments into this space, possibly by mid year,” co-founder David Walker said.
