PASO ROBLES — On Saturday, Feb. 25, the Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation (PRYAF) and the Partnership for the Children of San Luis Obispo County will collaborate together to co-present the first-ever Sip for Smiles event.
Located at PRYAF, 3201 Spring St., from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Sip for Smiles will feature a fun evening of wine tasting, good food, sweet desserts and, most important, a gallery of original artwork created by local students inspired by the theme, “What Makes You Smile.”
Founded in 2011 by Donna Berg, PRYAF is one of the Central Coast’s leading forces behind visual and performing arts programs accessible to area youth.
“These programs act as a safe and productive outlet for many of our students,” said Emily Jagger, PRYAF director of development. “Kids are encouraged to be creative and express themselves in whatever ways make them most happy. The sense of innovation they develop here will be important and continue to play a role throughout the rest of their lives.”
A public nonprofit organization, PRYAF aims to provide arts education to local Central Coast children from financially challenged backgrounds and to, ultimately, connect as well as intuitively expose them to their surrounding world.
This event is the perfect opportunity for local community members to do just that, Jagger said.
While donations are accepted, all proceeds from the art and auction sales — featuring theatre tickets and restaurant gift certificates — will support San Luis Obispo County youth programs and services.
Admission to the event costs $35.
