A Paso Robles woman was arrested and booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail earlier this week after she reportedly tried to make a left turn from northbound Highway 101 and failed to yield into oncoming traffic, causing a Jeep to swerve and roll over.
According to a California Highway Patrol incident report, Cheryl Futhey, 47, of Paso Robles was driving a Mazda 626 on the highway last Tuesday around 9 p.m. when she tried to make a left onto Stockdale Road. After she failed to yield to oncoming traffic, a Jeep Cherokee traveling southbound and driven by Irma Deleon of Paso Robles failed to avoid the Mazda.
According to the report, the Mazda collided with the Jeep, causing the Jeep to roll over off the highway and into a drainage ditch.
Deleon and her 17-year-old passenger were transported to Twin Cities Community Hospital for moderate injuries. Futhey reportedly received no injuries from the collision.
Futhey was arrested and booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of felony driving under the influence and driving with an expired driver's license. All of those involved in the accident were wearing seatbelts, according to the report.
