The California Mid-State Fair is now accepting entries for the annual Home Wine Competition.

Continuing with the success of last year, the competition will be held on May 6.

Entry forms are due by April 16, and entry guidelines are

available on-line at www.midstatefair.com.

Wines can be received from Friday, April 23 through Friday, April 30, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fair’s main office at 2198 Riverside Ave. in Paso Robles.

Wine bottles must be labeled. If there is not a decorative label, then a plain label with participant name, the varietal, vintage and any other pertinent information should be included.

The judging will be held May 6, 2010. Participants will be invited to a home wine tasting at the Fairgrounds from 5 to 7 p.m. the day of the judging, which is sponsored by 15 degrees C Wine Shop & Bar.

The 2010 California Mid-State Fair runs Wednesday, July 21, 2010, through Sunday, August 1, 2010.
