PASO ROBLES — The city of Paso Robles took its next step toward the creation of a new oversight committee for a sales tax increase that voters passed on Nov. 6.
On Tuesday, the Paso Robles City Council voted unanimously to move forward with the recruitment of seven members on the Supplemental Tax Oversight Committee. Four members would be recommended from community organizations; three from council selections, according to a city staff report.
Discussion centered around the council’s determination, made earlier, that the committee be open to residents and non-residents alike. City Councilman Ed Steinbeck said he thought the idea was to include outside sales taxpayers as well.
