Roblans making healthy choices together

A nutritious education was served hot at Georgia Brown Elementary School last Monday as 350 students dug into locally-sourced, professionally-prepared gourmet lunches. The food was cooked and served by chefs Gregg and Kelly Wangard of the Cliffs Resort & Marisol and SummerWood Winery, respectively.

Alongside the chefs, 30 Cal Poly athletes volunteered their time in an effort to show kids just how good healthy food can taste. To top off the experience, each student took home a bag of locally-grown produce.

I want to motivate [these students] to eat nutritious foods, said chef Gregg Wangard, who busied himself dishing out pasta, salad and fruit to dozens of hungry tots.
