San Luis Obispo County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Julian Crocker presented his findings of the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District Fiscal Recovery Plan at the PRJUSD Board meeting on Jan. 15.
During his presentation, Crocker re-designated the district’s budget status from negative to qualified certification. The district self-certified negative in December of 2011 and has spent the past year making budget adjustments and implementing furlough days as part of their corrective action.
“Paso’s outcome is a ‘good news’ story, but the district is still in a fragile position with key factors to monitor,” Crocker said. He congratulated the board, staff, parents and students for helping to “right the ship” regarding the district’s fiscal recovery. For the complete article see the 01-18-2013 issue.
