CHOLAME — Highway 41 will be closed in both directions from the Highway 46 East/Highway 41 Interchange in Cholame to State Route 33 in Kings County on Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for highway maintenance — work that includes guardrail, shoulder, and pavement delineation repairs, as well as mowing vegetation, according to Caltrans.
The following detours have been established:
— Motorists headed northbound may continue on Highway 46 East to State Route 33 to Highway 41.
— Motorists headed southbound on Highway 41 may detour to State Route 33 to Highway 46 East.
Using one of the detours will add an additional 27 miles or minutes to the regular commute for a total of a 50-mile detour. Message boards have been activated on Highway 41 in Cholame and Kettleman City to advise motorists of this closure and detours. For the complete article see the 10-22-2013 issue.
