All game long, Templeton High School [THS] varsity girls soccer goalie Lauren Teran kept the ball out of the net by diving, jumping or deflecting it off her gloved fingertips and sending it bouncing over the top of the cage.
That hard work inside the cage paid off during the first half, as neither team scored. Teran's diligence continued into the second half, as she continued to thwart the Cabrillo Conquistadores’ attempts at a goal on Tuesday, Feb. 2 at THS.

Teran described the Conquistadores as an aggressive team that never gave up.
"First half we were battling. It was pretty even," she said. "Then second half, they just picked it, and they got feisty."

"That last one where their goalie fumbled it, we almost had it," Teran said.
This year marks Teran's fourth year as the Eagles goalie. After graduation in the fall, she said she plans to attend college and has offers to play soccer at the next level.
"I'm going up to Chico State for a tryout, and I'm going up to San Francisco State,” she said. “They've both contacted me, and I'm going to go up to both colleges after this season ends, and maybe I'll be playing with one of them. So I'll definitely be continuing on, so that's very exciting."
And while the Eagles have struggled some the last four years and haven't earned a CIF playoff game during her time as goalie on the team, Teran said it's been a great experience...
