Senior Jordan Hattar was averaging 13 points per game for the Templeton Eagles but was limited to six points in his team's 55-38 loss to St. Joseph on Feb. 5.
It was a vast improvement over their last game against the St. Joseph Knights, but it still wouldn't be enough for the Templeton High School varsity boys basketball team to come away the victor, as they fell in their second and final league match up on Feb. 5 on home court, 55-38.
In their first league meeting on Jan. 15, the Knights defeated the Eagles 76-47 and held a 27-7 lead to end the first quarter in that game.
In the game on Feb. 5, the Eagles ended the first quarter up, 10-9.
"Last time against them we were able to use our full-court press to create some turnovers and some baskets, and this time [Templeton] did a great job from preventing us from doing that, so we had to adjust a little bit," St. Joseph coach Tom Mott.
To start the first quarter, Knight Keith Bendixen put up two at the basket. A possession later, he added two more from the line to give his team a 4-0 advantage.
The Eagles scored next when Daniel Wheeler passed to Zach Egger for two points. Two possessions later, Eagle Dakota Oropeza created a turnover and found Egger for two more points to tie the game at 4-4...
