With youth volunteerism and artistic sheen, two local North County spaces now have some artful ambiance while at the same time a handful of local girls earned the highest award in their respective levels of scouting.

Girl Scout Junior Troop No. 40914 recently helped beautify Georgia Brown Elementary School in Paso Robles and the San Miguel Library. The project is part of the scouts' bronze award, touted as the highest at that level in Girl Scouts.

The Girl Scouts painted two murals at the library and one at Georgia Brown.
