This Christmas, the residents of Chet Dotter Senior Housing shared a lovely holiday meal served by the YouthWorks teens from the Oak Park neighborhood.
We spent time reminiscing about other times and other Christmases.
What a great time for all.
Here are some of the comments that came about:
"[A good Christmas I recall] took place after the end of the war, and we lived in LA County. My brother Allan and I wanted a bike for Christmas. Money was short. My dad, being a creative person, purchased a used bike. He replaced the essential parts. Then, he hid the bike. He tied a string to it. String was pulled thru the garage, our home then to the backyard. Christmas morning, we took the string and followed it till we found our beloved bike.
