Lets Get Healthy Paso Robles!
Walking has many health benefits and it’s a great way to get active as well as meet new people. Join others and bring a friend for a morning walk around Paso Robles. We meet every Friday at 7 a.m. in the parking lot at 1502 Spring St. We do dynamic stretching then walk starts promptly at 7:10 a.m. There will be two groups, one of fast and another of slower walkers making it suitable for any fitness level.
MOM’S NIGHT OUT
Celebrate being a Mom, or thank yours by bringing her to the Summerwood Winery Mom's Night Out event. WARBIRDS WINGS & WHEELS
Now in it’s fifth year, Warbirds, Wings and Wheels is one of the largest car shows held in the area. Kicking off Saturday, May 11, enjoy a fun family day with plenty of cars, warbirds, trucks, military vehicles, food and music. The Museum will be hosting an open house, which means no museum entry fees. This year, the museum will be featuring three of the greatest names in custom design vehicles, all of whom are nationally acclaimed in their field. Jim “Bones” Noteboom, his son, Kutty Noteboom, and Cole Foster. All three will be bringing some of their latest masterpieces and will be available for autographs and pictures.
Bike and Biker
Son Light Warriors, the Paso Robles chapter of the Christian Motorcyclist Association, is hosting a Bike and Biker Blessing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11. Paso Robles Grange Pancake Breakfast
The Paso Robles Grange Pancake Breakfast is from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday, May 11, at the Grange Hall, 627 Creston Road. Pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, orange juice and coffee will be available to adults for $5 and children 12 and younger for $3.
Poets’ Night Out
Poets’ Night Out, Monthly Poetry Reading is on Thursday, May 16 at 7 p.m. Featured poets are Lani Steele and Ros Strohl who will read their original work at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 5318 Palma, Atascadero. An open-mike poetry reading will follow. Visiting poets and guests are welcome; no charge. Presented monthly by the Third Thursday Poetry Group in Atascadero. For more information, call 975-8222.
Wine fest reserve event and auction
Kick-off the 31st Annual Paso Robles Wine Festival with the RESERVE Event and Auction Friday, May 17 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. More than 40 participating wineries offer one wine within the categories of Reserve, Library, White/Rosé or Bid on select Futures. Library and Reserve wines at the auction. Six participating wineries offer a premium taste of Paso Robles in this creative spin on a silent auction. CHILDREN’S DAY IN THE PARK
The City of Atascadero and presenting sponsor Pure Pediatric Dentistry, together with The LINK, the SLO County Board of Supervisors, Idler's and the Atascadero Police K9 Division are hosting the 24th Annual Children's Day in the Park to be held Saturday, May 18 at the Atascadero Lake Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come out and enjoy a day of fun for the whole family. The event is free to attend and a $5 wristband gains entry into the carnival area. There will be multiple bounce houses, piñatas, and rides on the Elk's Train. Free entertainment will take place throughout the day including two Atascadero Police K9 demonstrations, performances by the Academy of Dance and 12 Paths Tae Kwan Do. Local resident Sean Bailey suffered head trauma and a severely broken arm in a recent bicycle accident, underwent surgery and was in ICU. Republican women’s monthly meeting
California Republican Women (CFRW) Legislative Advocate, Allison Olson will be speaking at the Paso Robles Republican Women’s meeting on May 20. Olson has been working in the political arena since graduating from University of California, Davis with a Political Science degree. Her previous work experience included a fellow with the Foundation for Defense of Democracies which allowed her to study with counter-terror experts in Israel and Washington D.C. Olson interned with Wilson-Miller Communications in Sacramento and was Deputy Finance Director for the McClintock for Congress campaign.
