With his family at his side, Carl Domingos, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully the morning of Sept. 30, 2016. A native of Santa Maria, he had made his home in Paso Robles since 2000.
Carl was born Nov. 9, 1944, to Bert Domingos and Pauline (McCoy) Domingos. He attended local schools, graduating from Santa Maria High School in 1962. He married the love of his life, Georgeanna (Guggia) Domingos, and they raised two sons,Tony and Paul.
A natural athlete, Carl played baseball throughout his youth, pitching in little league through high school and then with the semi-pro team Santa Maria Indians. He operated his business Carl's Mufflers for many years, selling the business and moving to Paso Robles in 2000, where he joined Tony in farming wine grapes. An avid sportsman, he was a perfectionist in his pursuit of fish and game and he was well known for his successes in hunting and fishing.
Carl and Georgeanna's main focus, however, was on their family. Their world revolved around their grandchildren, Austin, Trevor, Ryan and Tressa, who all seemed to excel in sports, and the proud grandparents seldom missed a game. It was a priority of Carl's to pass down his many skills and ethics to his children and grandchildren, and he did it well.
He will be truly missed by his family, his brothers Robert and Gary, and many friends who loved him dearly.
Services will be at the St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church in Santa Maria on Oct. 7 at 2 p.m., followed by a celebration of his life at Steinhauer Park, White Hills Vineyard (8385 Graciosa Road, Santa Maria).
In lieu of flowers, you may donate to your favorite charity. The Project Lexi Brown Foundation was close to Carl's heart (420 Clubhouse Drive, Santa Maria, CA 93455).
