Mark David Stoudenmire passed away on Sept. 26, 2016, at Country Care in Atascadero, Calif. He was 52 years old.
Mark was born in California in 1963. He lived in Mammoth Lakes as a child, where he became an accomplished fisherman as well as “resort host” at the ripe old age of 4 years old. He was admired by guests for his friendliness and help with local sightseeing. He moved to Atascadero while in high school and stayed to finish high school before returning to Mammoth, where he managed a condominium complex and enjoyed the Sierras.
Mark returned to the Central Coast to help with the family business. He excelled in all he did due to his infectious good humor and friendly personality. While in the Central Coast, Mark was introduced to the love of his live, Wendy DeGroot. They married, began a family and launched a new career path where they bought homes to fix up and resell.
Mark and his Dad did renovations for many years affording Mark time to be with his family in a home he and Wendy built in Garden Farms. Mark was able to hone his cooking and parenting skills to perfection. His life was happy, and he was a friend to all.
Mark suffered a debilitating cerebral aneurysm in 2006 and remained under Wendy’s loving care at home for five years and then moved to Country Care until the time of his peaceful passing surrounded by family. He left this life too soon, he left behind his wife Wendy, son Will, daughters Megan and Emma, siblings Sue, Mike and Heidi, parents Bud and Beth, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
He touched the hearts of all with his wonderful laugh and he will be missed very much. RIP, Mark.
Celebration of Mark’s life gathering will be announced soon.
