Carl Klever

Posted: Tuesday, Sep 25th, 2012

Carl was born in January of 1926 in Paso Robles and went to his home in heaven to be with his Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012. He lived on farms in the Templeton area his whole life, with the exception of time spent in the military. Carl was a lifelong farmer who loved to work on the land in this beautiful portion of the country. On June 25, 1950 Carl married Betty, the love of his life. Being at home and spending time with family and friends was his most favorite enjoyment.

In his younger years, Carl enjoyed participating in a variety of athletic sports, especially basketball and softball. He was the pitcher for a softball team that won the Paso Robles City League Championship several consecutive seasons. Since Carl genuinely cared about people, being a church usher from age 16 to 80, gave him the opportunity to greet and encourage countless numbers of individuals throughout the years. Carl had advanced to the rank of sergeant, while serving in the U.S. Army.

He ranked much higher with loved ones surviving him: his loving wife, of 62 wonderful years, Betty; sons and daughters-in-law, who have been such a blessing, Kevin and Patricia of Paso Robles; and Mark and Jennifer of Grenada, Calif. (near Mt. Shasta); and grandchildren who brought him much jo Kylie, Layton, Kendall and Lilly Ann. Carl is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Linda Klever of Grass Valley, Calif.; and special nieces and nephews in various parts of the country. He was preceded in death by first-born son, Kris Randall; and parents, Max Carl and Catherine Klever.

Carl's memorial, a celebration of his life, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Creston Community Church, 6265 Adams St. in Creston. Carl loved to help people, so in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory, to one of the following Christian organizations that helps people: Lifewater International, P.O. Box 3131, San Luis Obispo, CA 93403; Mercy in Action, P.O. Box 2777, Paso Robles, CA 93447; or Loaves and Fishes, 2650 Spring St. Paso Robles, CA 93446.
