Ralph Barrett passed away peacefully in his chair at his home on Nov. 27, 2012, his 92nd birthday. He was surrounded by loving friends.
Ralph was born in Paso Robles in November of 1920 and lived his whole life within a five-mile radius around BeeRock. Ralph spent his entire life as a cattle rancher and many years as the owner/operator of a trucking business.
Ralph proclaimed to have no religion yet was the first to say that if someone needed a friend, he would try to be that friend. Ralph could make anyone feel special, especially the women, whom he claimed he never flirted with. Ralph was a true gentleman, well respected by all and his handshake was his word.
Ralph enjoyed people coming to visit and him telling stories of how he learned to work cattle from the old timers of his day. He also liked to talk about when he worked cattle with all of the neighbors and local cattleman. He always tried to share his knowledge with those willing to listen.
Ralph was the youngest and the last surviving of five siblings of Will and Lena Barrett. He is survived by his nephew William Reynolds and wife Delores and numerous loving friends.
Ralph's family would like to thank the wonderful nurses, techs, patients and family members at the Templeton Dialysis Center who made the past four years bearable by treating him like their family.
There will be a celebration barbecue of Ralph's wonderful life on Dec. 15 at the Bee Rock Hall/Store starting at 11 a.m. If you wish to attend please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by Dec. 11 if possible.
