Janet took the hand of her Lord and “Stepped across to the other side in Peace” on April 14, 2013. She was born Dec. 4, 1933.
Janet was a first-generation Californian. Her father, Samuel Brask, was from Minnesota and her mother, Martha (Westberg) Brask, was from Saskatchewan. Janet was born and raised in Glendale along with her older sister Joan. She graduated from Van Nuys High School, in Van Nuys in 1951.
She married James F. McAdam in January of 1953. From 1966 to 1978 they owned a large cattle ranch near Creston. The family had many memorable adventures and frequent visitors at the ranch. Jim died in 1999.
She worked as a secretary for 35 years for husband Jim’s construction company, while making a happy home for her family. She loved gardening, sewing, cooking and had many friends that she cherished.
She is survived by her children, Cindy Bleam and Don McAdam (Michelle). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Gary Bleam, Bethany (Nathan) Watts, Brian (Jennifer) McAdam, Kelsey, Mark, Shawn and Brandon McAdam and three great-grandchildren, Donald and Kathleen McAdam and Samuel Watts.
She married Richard Beam in April 2002 and they lived in Morro Bay.
Janet’s oldest son James passed away in 2007 as did her husband Richard, also in 2007.
The family extends a big thank you to the staff at French Hospital, ICU in particular, for their efforts and support.
A celebration of her life is planned at Rock Harbor Christian Fellowship, 1475 Quintana Road, Morro Bay on Saturday May 11, 2013 at 1:30 p.m.
