Elsa E. (McGuire) Gileau

Modified: Thursday, Jun 20th, 2013

Elsa E. (McGuire) Gileau went home to be with God after a long fight with Parkinsonís disease on June 6, 2013. She was born Sept. 23, 1933 in Buhlertal, Germany to Emma and Stefan Bauerle.

She married SFC Robert J. McGuire (US Army) who adopted her son Gilbert in 1963. Robert and Elsa moved to Paso Robles the first time in 1966, after Robert completed his tour of duty in Vietnam. In 1968 they moved back to Germany and returned to Paso Robles in 1971. Robert and Elsa divorced in 1972. Later that year she met Roger Gieau and they married on April 16, 1973. Rogerís job with PG&E took them up to San Jose. In September of 1984 they moved back to Paso Robles for the last time.

Roger and Elsa enjoyed fishing and camping in various places in California and loved to travel to visit family and fields throughout the US. Elsa had a very kind heart and helped out anyone in need.

Elsa was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, her husband Roger (April 1999) and her ex-husband Robert (December 1988), who they both took care of during his last few years of his life.

She is survived by her only son Gilbert R. McGuire and his wife Beckie, three grandchildren; Christine, Nathalie and Robert, 12 great-grandchildren and Tina who is just like her daughter and her family.

No services will be held per Elsaís request. The family wants to take this time to thank all the wonderful people from hospice, her doctors; Jeff Bourne, Justin Davis and Nelson Yamagata. A special thank you to nurse Lester for his kind heart and care he gave to mom; Judy, the bath lady; Katheryn who came over to pray for her; and her daughter-in-law Beckie, who did everything to take care of mom. To our wonderful friend Tina and her family who really helped the family out with special care throughout this fight with Parkinsonís and especially during the last days of her life, thank you!

In lieu of flowers and cards, please make a donation in Elsaís name to the local hospice and/or Parkinsonís research.
