PASO ROBLES — Health goals can be intimidating this time of year, but what if they didn’t have to revolve around one’s physical health and instead dealt with mental and emotional health?
Painting, one of today’s most revered and enjoyable hobbies, is more than just another artistic endeavor, it also instills many therapeutic and calming health benefits.
On Sunday, Jan. 15, from 1 to 3 p.m., Paso Robles residents will have the chance, for the first time ever, to close their weekend and kick their work week off with a relaxing and rejuvenating local art and wine class with renowned San Luis Obispo artist Julie Dunn.
With more than 25 years of art experience, Dunn will instruct a two-hour session at the local Paint and Sip Art Bar, located at Adelaide Vineyards and Winery at 5805 Adelaida Road.
Artwork is inspirational and uplifting, said Dunn. To paint from the heart, especially things one finds meaningful, allows for a true and honest reflection of ones feelings.
“In an era filled with high technology, stress and an endless stream of bad news, (art allows one to) draw attention to things that are quite beautiful and often overlooked in our fast-paced, modern lifestyle,” said Dunn.
The class, which costs $62 per guest, will feature the intricacies and depths behind still-life acrylic painting.
Complementary supplies, snacks and, of course, wine will also be provided.
Enjoy a cozy Sunday afternoon learning something new before jumping back into the whirlwind of daily life.
