The 2017 California Mid-State Fair has revealed part of its summer concert lineup, which is already shaping up to be one of the fair’s most exciting years yet and will now be even louder.
“The 12-day-long fair will feature 10 nights of musical performances in the Main Grandstand and 12 nights of concerts on the front stage,” said Tom Keffury, a member of the California Mid-State Fair’s sponsorships and publicity team.
So far, seven artists have been announced. While some are new and others are returning, each artist is sure to showcase a thrilling and memorable experience for fans.
The fair, which starts July 19, will kick off with three opening performances. Two will be by hard-rock band Blue Oyster Cult — famous for hits like “Don’t Fear the Reaper” and “Burnin’ for You” — and the other by true music icon Lionel Richie — known for his pop song “We are the World,” written with Michael Jackson for USA for Africa.
Just when things start to heat up, three-time Grammy winners and multi-platinum artist Zac Brown Band will take the stage. On Thursday, July 20, the band, who has sold over 25 million singles and 8 million albums to date, will perform in the Grandstand Arena.
Following them, on July 26, will be three performances. War, an American funk band from Long Beach and famous for popular hits like “Low Rider” and “Spill the Wine,” will offer two free shows — one at 6:30 p.m. and the other at 8:30 p.m. — on the Frontier Stage. At 7:30 p.m., returning and renowned country artist Keith Urban with special guest Lauren Alaina will play in the Grandstand Arena.
The Fab Four, known as one of the best Beatles tribute bands to date, will pay homage to the famous rock ‘n’ roll artists on Thursday, July 27. Making history one live rendition at a time, the band is scheduled to play two shows that night, both of which will be on the Frontier Stage.
The last artist that has been announced is the legendary group Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Valli, who has performed practically all over the country, is famous for his classic hits like “December, 1963” and “Sherry,” and is sure to bring in a full house.
The 2017 California Mid-State Fair, one of the most successful entertainment venues on the West Coast, is proud and excited to continue announcing this year’s amazing and diverse musical artists, said Mid-State Fair CEO Michael Bradley.
This year there really will be a little something for everyone to check out and experience.
