Oct. 7, 1932–March 21, 2014
Fling Armstrong Traylor Jr., of Paso Robles, passed away March 21, 2014. At the age of 81, he led a full and adventurous life.
Born to Dorothy Catherine Traylor, on Oct. 7, 1932 in San Diego, he had ambitions and ideas that never ceased to amaze all that were fortunate enough to know him.
Fling married his high school sweetheart, Annette and together they lived in Southern California, where Fling owned and operated several manufacturing businesses.
After 35 years, and tired of the rat race, they purchased property here in Paso Robles, planted a vineyard and for the last 25 years enjoyed life here on the Central Coast.
Fling found his passion in most all his ventures — drag racing, sailing, snowmobiling, skiing and traveling.
We will all miss his dry sense of humor and that sarcastic smirk. But mostly, we will miss the man that was always larger than life.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Annette, his children, Janet Rauch, Catherine Winter (Brady) and James Traylor (Monica). He is also survived by grandchildren Aimee Rauch, Cody Traylor, Andrew Winter and Shawn Rauch and his great-granddaughter, Kailee Frances Searson.
A private memorial will be held for family and close friends at Fling’s beloved vineyard, San Marcos Creek, here in Paso Robles at a later date. For the complete article see the 04-01-2014 issue.
