Chapel Hill site of Festival Mozaic concert this summer

Posted: Thursday, Jun 5th, 2014

SHANDON — Traveling the steep incline to the top of Shandon’s Chapel Hill is a rite of passage for many North County residents. At its peak, sits a cozy, mission-style chapel torn from another time. The panoramic view encompasses lush vineyards, undulating hills and — if you’re lucky — a fiery sunset heightened by a warm breeze. Festival Mosaic, which brings orchestral concerts, chamber music and various classical, jazz and world music ensembles to scenic sites across the Central Coast, is poised to bring music to the venue this summer.

Festival Orchestra: Baroque in the Vines is slated to perform at Chapel Hill on Saturday, July 19, featuring music by such composers as Bach and Geminiani. The 2014 Festival Mozaic summer lineup unfolds with a debut performance at nearby Mission San Miguel on July 17, followed by musical offerings throughout the region. Venues encompass Cuesta College, See Canyon Fruit Ranch and the Christopher Cohan Performing Arts Center, among others.
