Girls volleyball
The Bearcats varsity team traveled to Coast Union High School in Cambria for a non-league game against the Broncos on Tuesday, Oct. 6, and won, 3-0.
The Bearcats won 25-17, 25-10, 25-10.
For the Bearcats, Karlee Anderson led her team with ten kills, and setter Kellie Reynolds tallied 19 assists and seven aces.
The Bearcats are now 10-4-1 overall, 3-1 PAC 7. They played at Atascadero High School yesterday, and they host San Luis Obispo High School on Tuesday, Oct. 13 starting at 6:30 p.m.
Girls tennis
The Bearcats traveled to Righetti High School for a league matchup against the Warriors and came away with a 16-2 win.
In Bearcat singles, No. 1 player Maria Petiy went, 6-0, 6-0, 6-1. No. 2 singles player Angelica Shubbie went 7-5, 6-2, 7-2. And No. 3 singles player Savannah Carlson went 6-1, 6-3.
In doubles, the team of Jessica Shubbie and Catherine Redberg went 7-5, 6-1, 6-1. The team of Lauren Hynes and Lauren Redberg went 6-3, 6-0, 6-0. The team of Chelsea Merrill and Lindsey Baldwin went 6-0, 6-4.
The Bearcats played at Santa Maria yesterday. They host Mission Prep for a non-league match today starting at 3:30 p.m.
Girls golf
The varsity team played a league dual match against Righetti on Monday, Oct. 5 at Rancho Maria Golf Course in Santa Maria. The Warriors won 216-290.
Co-medalist honors went to the Warriors Marion Smit and Makalya Meir who both shot 40.
For the Bearcats, Ashley Levanduski led with a 51. Kim Bergin shot a 52. Tori Sepulveda shot a 55. Brooke Treatch and Kaitlyn Bedell both shot a 66.
The Bearcats played the San Luis Obispo Tournament yesterday. They play in the Righetti Tournament on Monday, Oct. 19, and then host Dos Pueblos for a non-league dual match on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
Adult basketball registration
The Paso Robles Library and Recreation Services will be holding open registration for the Fall 2009 Adult Basketball League the week of Oct. 26-30.
Teams can register at Centennial Park, 600 Nickerson Dr., in Paso Robles. Players must be 16 years or older to join and each team must have a minimum of eight players on the roster, with a maximum of 12.
Cost per team is $594. The league will be an open division, with games played on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
On Nov. 4, a managers meeting will be held at Centennial Park starting at 6 p.m. For more information, contact Chad Dawson at 237-3990.
College sports
Former Paso Robles Bearcat Morgan Thompson earned Athlete of the Month for October 2009 from Cuesta College. Thompson is a sophomore on the women's water polo team.
Thompson was named as the 2008 Western State Conference Co-Player of the Year and earned 2008 All Southern California Second Team honors.
Thompson currently leads the state in scoring with 59 goals.
Thompson has 154 career goals so far at Cuesta, just two goals shy of the current Cuesta career mark set by two-time All American Whitney Leviki, who scored 156 goals during the 2006-07 seasons for the Cougars.
The team is currently 7-10 and 1-0 in the Western State Conference.
