The Paso Robles City Council paused to honor Dolly Bader, 99, a longtime resident, volunteer and local advocate during its regular meeting this week.
Surrounded by city officials, the council, family and close friends, Mayor Duane Picanco invited Bader to the front of the council chambers to receive a special plaque in recognition for her service to the community. Picanco, also a former business in the downtown area, said he recalled how Bader used to drop by the shop to say hello.
\\\"What she has done in the past for the city of Paso Robles not only for her time but for her own accomplishments, [Bader] has really been phenomenal for her contributions,\\\" Picanco said. \\\"She\\\'s really what represents Paso Robles as far as the volunteering and getting out there and working with the community.”
