The California Mid-State Fair and summer is here – and the living is indeed easy.

Now is the time for Paso area women to unleash their inner cowgirl and sashay on over to the Athelma's of San Miguel Fine Quality Indian and Western Jewelry gallery in Paso Robles on Fridays and Saturdays, July 16-17, 23-24 and 30-31 to choose from a colorful and exquisite array of Indian and western contemporary sterling silver jewelry and clothing accessories.

The gallery offers a multitude of turquoise, coral, onyx and multi-stone pendants set in sterling silver by Navajo and Zuni artisans.

There will be matching and contrasting earrings to go with them as well as bracelets. All pieces are unique and many are one-of-a-kind – many pendants are quite bold and large and are statement and investment pieces. The necklaces are all varying sizes of sterling beads, as well as gemstone beads, all from Indian artisans.

Athelma's has bridge sterling contemporary pieces as well, made by western artisans. The earrings and bracelets are stunning and look fabulous with an elegant pendant sparkling in the light and dangling from a sterling silver slider.

Athelma's' tasteful but unique western clothing accessories are one-of-a-kind and hand -picked by their own wardrobe designer and sizes range from Petite to Plus 3-X.

They carry vests, tops, skirts, jackets many with fringe, and purses. Saunter on over, and they will help you put together your own special look to guarantee you'll have "flair for the fair.”

Athelma's of San Miguel was inspired by Paula Fisk, granddaughter of Athelma Edrington Lamb of San Ardo and San Miguel, and silver artisan and designer.

Fisk was raised on Athelma's ranch out on the Estrella in San Miguel and enjoyed a lively, colorful childhood surrounded by her parents, many relatives and assorted ranch hands who were like family – and many friends from town and surrounding ranches. She later lived in the southwest for many years and trained as a silver artisan in the studios and factories.
