PASO ROBLES — If city officials were at one point worried that voters might reject a proposed sales tax measure aimed at fixing the city's crumbling streets, they perhaps had little reason to doubt this week.

On Tuesday, voters in Paso Robles overwhelmingly approved a temporary, supplemental half-cent sales tax increase as a means to generate added revenue that would "go a long way to repair aging roads," City Manager Jim App, confirmed on Wednesday.

The results are only preliminary as several thousand remaining ballots are to be counted.
