Raising the bar: San Miguel’s Codie Wilshusen wins by leaps and bounds

SHE’S GOT IT — Pictured, Codie Wilshusen, 13, of San Miguel takes first-place last weekend. The Level 6 California Gold Gymnastics and Cheer member competed in her first state competition last Saturday, Nov. 3 in Roseville, Calif, earning a first-place medal and bragging rights as 2012 NorCal State Bar Champion in the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympics.

SAN  MIGUEL — Thirteen-year-old Codie Wilshusen of San Miguel has allowed her passion for gymnastics to propel her up and above the competition. It shouldn’t be a shock — the young athlete started at just 4 years old.
