TEMPLETON — The little town of Templeton will have big cause to celebrate this weekend as old time Founder’s Day fun unfurls across Main Street. Sunday, Nov. 18 marks the anniversary of its very first visitors, who stepped off a train and onto the pristine, oak-studded land way back in 1886.
Once a simple homecoming reunion for local family and friends, Founder’s Day has grown to celebrate the region’s agricultural heritage and rich history. Templeton Historical Society — with help from the Templeton Chamber of Commerce — has nurtured the event from an old-fashioned pie social into a bustling street fair busting with community color.
