23rd CAPMT program a success, organizers say

SLO COUNTY ó†The Central Coast Music Teachers Association held its twenty-third annual CAPMT Piano Auditions on Friday, Nov. 2 at Saint Johnís Lutheran Church in Arroyo Grande and on Saturday, Nov. 3 at Saint Stephenís Episcopal Church in San Luis Obispo.

There were 34 students participating in the auditions program, six of which received the highest score of five. There were also seven ensemble teams representing thirteen students. Out of these, one team received the highest score of five. Students participating in the solo auditions performed two pieces from memorym as well as one duet piece. Those on the ensemble teams performed one piece each. One of the ensemble teams included an eight hand, two piano music selection. Students receiving a score of five were invited to perform at the CAPMT Northern or Southern Regional Recitals.
