In loving memory of Jack L. Sylva, born in Cambria, Calif. in September of 1937, a resident of the Paso Robles community all his life went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 4, 2012 after battling cancer during his last few years of life.
He is a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by three daughters: Susan Tellez, Costa Mesa, Sharon Escobar (Ed) of Paso Robles, Sandra Roberts (Michael) of Shannon, N.C.; sisters Naomi Laux of Pittsburgh, Calif., Lorna Bell of Fresno, Calif.; brother John Bertoni (June) of Paso Robles; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces.
After graduating high school, he attended Cal Poly, joined the Naval Reserve and was a Lions Club member. He enjoyed the outdoors and had a love of horses, cattle and photography.
A service will be held in memoriam on Thursday, Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. at Camp Roberts Chapel 1, Highway 101, Calif. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society and San Luis Obispo County Hospice Partners.
