PASO ROBLES — A group of Flamson Middle School students were exercising in the gym on Wednesday morning, Dec. 12 when one youth disrupted a loose baseboard.

At that moment, no one could have known that this random incident would shed light on a glittering piece of Paso’s past. One-by-one, several old trophies — one dating to as early as the 1930s — were unearthed from the darkness.

“My P.E. teachers were the ones who found them,” said Flamson Middle School Principal Gene Miller. “We found a number of different trophies going back to the 1940s and 30s. They’re really kind of cool.”
