Report of gunshots leads to school lockdown

PASO ROBLES — A lockdown sparked by a report of a gunshot heard near Bauer-Speck Elementary School ended without incident.

On Thursday, Jan. 10, at approximately 11:36 a.m. the Paso Robles Police Department communications center received a report of one gunshot heard in the area of Bauer-Speck Elementary School in the 400 block of 17th Street. Only one report of this nature was received at PRPD.

School district staff initiated a lockdown of the campus and secured all of the students prior to the arrival of officers.
