The "Windmill Man"

Posted: Friday, Jan 25th, 2013

Frank Wicks Jr. of Shandon, born in August of 1926 passed away in Templeton to be with his wife Betty on Jan.22, 2013. Frank is survived by son Kelly Wicks and his wife, Myrna; son Frank Wicks III and wife, Debbie; daughter Rachel Wicks Stockdale all of Shandon; daughter Shelly Wicks of Reserve, NM; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Most people remember Frank as the "Windmill Man," the guy with the yellow hardhat and pipe in his teeth. Frank could "fix anything." He installed and repaired pumps and windmills in five counties. Frank was in all phases of construction for more than 50 years, a WWII veteran and member of the Methodist church.

He's gone to be with Jesus, but he'll sure be missed.

Graveside services at Shandon Cemetery Monday Jan. 28 at 2 p.m.

Arrangements made by Chapel of the Roses in Atascadero.
