Templeton artist invites you to ‘peel back the layers’

TEMPLETON — Robin Johnson’s art is worth a second look.

In her latest collection, the Templeton resident uses unassuming mixed media — including children's toys, sock puppets, scrabble tiles and found items — to tackle the intriguing underworld of conspiracy theory.

Her latest exhibit, “Peeling Back the Layers,” opens Friday, Feb. 22 at Coastal Peaks Roasters in San Luis Obispo. A reception with an opportunity to meet the artist will take place on Saturday, March 9 from 2 to 5 p.m.

The artwork might be playful, but it’s rife with secret messages.
