'Strong' love for local city official

PASO ROBLES — Recently, I had the opportunity to share a little time away from it all with Patty and Fred Strong, our councilman. They had invited me to their home in order to to able to interview them in quiet surroundings. The whole atmosphere was warm and cozy along with the frolicking of their four playful feline roommates.

  We shared much chatting over coffee as well as reminiscing. Since my main interest on how fate intervened on how they met, I was fascinated on how it took place. It took place in Santa Rosa, Calif. on April 5, 1978.

  Earlier that evening, Patty had attended a business meeting with a friend and carpooled. They had both decided to stop for a drink at the Tropicana Hotel Convention Center. And Fred was there after a beginning duplicate bridge game. He was asked to join the guys at the bar after the game.
