SAN MIGUEL California Highway Patrol officer Bryan Wright died Thursday morning when the car he was working on fell on him.
Wright, 41, was off duty and working on his truck at his home outside of San Miguel, authorities reported. The home is east of San Miguel on the border of San Luis Obispo and Monterey counties.
He was a real nice guy and it is a very sad day, CHP public affairs officer Robert Lehman said. I had met him a few times and he was just a friendly person.
The officer, who once worked as a training officer, had a wife and two children.
He worked for the King City CHP and had been with the CHP for about 15 years.
