At BarrelHouse Brewing, beer is where the heart is

The group posed with a cold one last week in the epicenter of the brewery, which is located about a mile from Firestone Walker Brewing Company at 3055 Limestone Way in Paso Robles.

BarrelHouse Brewery co-owner Jason Carvalho bellies up to the concrete bar he crafted with his own two hands. Outside, a waterfall gurgles while birds chirp and chatter. A rusty, antique flatbed truck-turned-stage adorns the lush beer garden. The brewery itself is large — almost cavernous, but sizable windows and pops of reclaimed barn wood and scrap metal keep the vibe rustic. At the center of the 3,500-square-foot taproom, the heart of BarrelHouse’s operation gleams.
