La Cosecha brings home-grown passion to Latin eatery

Posted: Friday, Jun 7th, 2013

Photo by Brian Williams The beauty of La Cosecha is hidden behind construction, but the bar and restaurant is expected to open to the public in early July.

A cross-section of Paso Robles is on the menu at La Cosecha Bar and Restaurant, slated to open at 835 12th Street slated for early July.

The name itself means “The harvest,” and for good reason: Carole and Chef Santos MacDonal are familiar with using locally sourced ingredients. The couple also own downtown fine dining Italian establishment Il Cortile Restorante .

“La Cosecha will be similar to Il Cortile in the same respect that we will use as much local produce as we can and local products as we can,” said Carole. “We are importing some things directly from Spain and south America, like Iberico ham, a delicacy from Spain, and some of the herbs and spices and things that aren’t grown in the U.S.”
