Pinot & Paella a crowd favorite

To the question, ‘What is paella?’ came wildly different answers Sunday at the 10th annual Pinot and Paella Festival at Templeton’s Downtown Park.

Chef Alexander Justin Martin, first-place winner among the voting crowd, said the secret is all in the way the ingredients are put together. Martin, of Crush Catering is cooking at the new Paso Robles hot spot, The Dish, which opened just a few weeks ago at 845 13th St. and serves late-night food, staying open until midnight. The restaurant has what Martin calls a progressive menu, which will sometimes feature his paella.
