Rangers draft former Mustang

Former Cuesta Baseball star Cody Lavalli was selected by the Texas Rangers during the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft. Lavalli was named All-State for the Cougars in 2012 and played for Lewis and Clark State this spring. He hit .373 with 10 home runs and 50 RBI for the Warriors and was previously drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 49th round of the 2010 draft. While at Cuesta, Lavalli was named to the 2012 All-State Second Team and to the All-Western State Conference First Team. He powered the Cougarsí offense and led the team in doubles (12), triples (4), home runs (4), RBI (38), batting (.356) and on-base percentage (.463).
