PASO ROBLES Master vaudevillian, man of the stage and TV, Bud Mercer turned 100 years old on Sept. 5. Mercer celebrated the day with family and friends and a cavalcade of entertainers (including Bud) in San Luis Obispo to honor him for his prodigious carrier and 100 years of life.
Mercer, who now lives in Paso Robles, began his career in vaudeville with his brother, Jim Mercer in 1932. Known as the Mercer Brothers, they preformed on the Ed Sullivan Show Toast of the Town, on Dude Martin, Spade Cooley and other western variety shows in Los Angeles.
