PASO ROBLES— The Rim Fire continues to burn in and around Yosemite National Park. Containment on the fourth-largest wildfire in modern California history was at 80 percent on Wednesday, allowing for three California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection firefighters to return to their base in Paso Robles.
According to Cal Fire the local firefighters were sent out a couple of weeks ago to help with fire suppression. Camp Roberts Capt. William Marten of the California National Guard was also sent down to the fire for a week to help coordinate with the media covering the fire. For the complete article see the 09-06-2013 issue.
