SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY — The American Red Cross has sent seven Central Coast volunteers to work as relief staff in Colorado to help more than 400 trained disaster workers who are staffing 14 shelters and 20 response vehicles to lend aid during the state’s flash-flooding emergencies.
The seven volunteers are Stephany Anderson of Carpinteria, Marion Cozart of Santa Barbara, Coleen Hefley of Santa Ynez, Donald Lagrand of Cambria, Elizabeth Lepey of Newbury Park, Ricky Maynez of Ventura and Sandy Bilham of West Lake. These individuals are in Colorado providing food, shelter and relief supplies as stranded residents are airlifted out of their flooded neighborhoods to safer locations provided by the Red Cross and the Colorado National Guard.For the complete article see the 09-20-2013 issue.
