Pride and legacy fuel the Greyhounds' fire

ATASCADERO ó There is a feud that flows beneath the surface of the friendly exchanges up and down Highway 101 between the Greyhounds and Bearcats that begins to boil when football cleats press into the turf of the opposing teamís field. Of all sports, there is none that raises the temperature like a battle on the gridiron between the two North County rivals.

Many people agree, including some coaches, that they prefer to see both Atascadero and Paso Robles come into the final game of the PAC-7 season with undefeated records and fight in a battle of epic proportions for sole ownership of the PAC-7 title, but the current season scenario may be more intriguing than any other.
