Don Haley Brandon, 81, of Paso Robles, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, after bravely fighting colon and liver cancer for over three years.
Don was born on Oct. 23, 1932, in Tillman County, Okla., the youngest of five children. His brother, William, and sisters, Lillian, Jovan and Gladys, all proceeded him in death.
Don was raised mostly in King City and attended King City High. After serving in the U.S. Army, he began his career in San Ardo working for Texaco for over 22 years. Upon retiring from the oil fields, he was able to pursue his first love of cowboying. Until shortly before his death, Don worked at the Rudnick Ranch with his good friend Justin Smith.
Don is survived by his loving life partner of 29 years, Georgia Collins, of Paso Robles, and his son, Erin, of Los Osos.
