If you ask the folks at Cloud Climbers Jeep & Wine Tours, not all vehicles are created equal, and there is a distinct difference between touring wine country by bus, limo or car. For business owner Dave DeMauro, there is nothing better than feeling the wind in your hair while experiencing Paso’s beauty in an open-air, four-wheel-drive Jeep.
“Jeeps offer a more intimate experience,” said DeMauro. “We want our guests to really learn about the area, the surrounding mountains, climate, soil and the owners and wine makers who put their heart and soul into producing great wines. Our Jeeps offer great views and the feeling of being on more of an ‘adventure’ in wine tasting.”
The family-owned Santa Barbara-based company opened its doors in the fall of 1999, expanding to include San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles a decade later. The Paso Robles tours accommodate anywhere from two-to-six participants and are customized to each group’s preference in wineries and varietals. For the complete article see the 12-20-2013 issue.
